Why does a continent comprising 52/53 separate and distinct nations become one ‘nation’ for the spurious purpose of having a ‘National’ Day. What is it that links the cultures of South Africa to Egypt or The Gambia to Mozambique in such a way? Is there a multiple-country Asia Day or Europe Day or even a Day for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland? No, there isn’t. Each individual country has its own special day. The same should apply to the amazingly diverse nations of the African Continent. Please treat them with more respect. Happy Day, Africa!
